cTrader trading journal
TradeForge team · Last updated
TradeForge is a trading journal that reads your closed cTrader trades. Connect with a view-only cTrader sign-in for live sync, or upload a statement CSV from cTrader Web. TradeForge never places orders and never sees your cTrader password.
| How it connects | View-only sign-in at cTrader (live sync), or a statement CSV you upload |
|---|---|
| Updates | Live sync: Every few hours in the background while you use TradeForge, and on demand with Sync now. CSV: when you upload a new file |
| History | Live sync: Your full history on the first sync, then a 90-day look-back on each sync after that. CSV: whatever the file covers |
| Your password | Never stored. You sign in at cTrader and allow view-only access |
| Stop loss and R | cTrader history has no stop loss. Type the amount you risked on a trade and TradeForge shows an estimated R (≈R) |
| Costs | Net P&L includes swap and commission (CSV: commission if that column is turned on) |

Questions
Does TradeForge need my cTrader password?
No. You sign in on cTrader's own page and allow view-only access. TradeForge can read trades but cannot place orders.
Does a prop-firm cTrader account work?
Yes, if the firm gives you a cTrader account. It connects the same way as any other cTrader account.
Why is RR empty on my cTrader trades?
RR needs a stop loss, and cTrader's trade history doesn't include one. Enter the amount you risked on the trade and TradeForge shows an estimated R.
Is a partial close one trade?
No. A partial close counts as two trades.
Do open positions show?
No, closed trades only.
Should I use live sync or the CSV?
Live sync keeps itself up to date. The CSV is for when you don't want to sign in, and needs a new file to update. Importing the same file again skips duplicates.
